The team rivalries are on now! After two nights of racing, we can really see our race teams rallying the troops and going for the Summer Race Series Team Trophy — the only overall series award.
On the second night of racing, Predator Cycling showed up full force at the Orange 20 Track Cup last Wednesday. They took a demanding lead in the team standings by dominating the Sprint Tournament (the most valuable event in points for the Team Trophy).
The Herbalife La Grange riders — who were leading after the first event — have fallen behind but they are still hanging on in 2nd place. If they want to take the lead again, they are going to have to get more riders out to race (points are awarded for participation as well as for performance).
Chain Gang remains in 3rd place. They’ve been representing with a lot of riders so far in the series — now they just have to ride faster and get those points!
Moth Attack, the one-woman wrecking crew has slipped into 4th place. Megan Dean is still riding on those points she earned at the H&S Time Trials Night (female racers get double points).
Rounding out the top 5 is Encino Velo thanks to Daniel Kosykh’s triple-win hat trick in the A-Class Omnium. If Daniel can keep showing up with performances like that, they have a chance at getting to the top of the standings before the end of the series.
See the rest of the top 10 teams below. There are still three more race nights left in the Summer Race Series and a lot can happen during that time. CLICK HERE to see how Team Trophy points are awarded.
